Click on speaker icon on taskbar, volume scale does not pop-up to raise-lower volume of speakers.

I click on speaker icon located at taskbar but the volume scale does not come up like it usually did for me to change speaker volume. I am not sure if I did anything to make this happen but I need to know the steps I can to fix speaker volume control.

Have you attempted to reinstall the audio drivers?

When was the last time it worked, did you perform a system restore?
