Hello everyone. There are constant soft clicks coming from the speakers and headphones. When you disconnect the headphones and reconnect them, the sound disappears completely. Only a reboot helps. I've already tried changing drivers and OS. Updating the BIOS also does not help. I need your opinion on this issue. I'm leaning towards an audio codec malfunction.

Hi @Dima1947

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Please try the below suggestions:

Right click on the speaker icon in the bottom tool bar, select troubleshoot, select 'speaker' then 'next'.

It should then bring up an option to turn off sound effects and enhancements, click 'yes open audio enhancements' , select 'Advanced', then you will find 'Signal enhancements' at the bottom, uncheck the 'Enable audio enhancements' .

Update the audio driver

Use Windows Update to update to the latest audio drivers available for your computer.

In Windows, search for and open Check for updates. Install any available updates.

To learn more about Windows Update, go to HP PCs - Updating drivers using Windows update (Windows 11, 10).

Take care, and have an amazing day!
