Hi @Castor58,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP M24f monitor and Chromecast setup, and you’d like to get both video and sound through it. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm the monitor’s available ports
– The HP M24f has HDMI input only and no built-in speakers.
– This means video will work from Chromecast, but audio needs an external solution.

Connect the Chromecast to the monitor
– Plug the Chromecast directly into the HDMI port on the HP M24f.
– Use the Chromecast’s power adapter to ensure stable power.

Add external speakers for sound
– Since the M24f has no audio output, connect speakers or a soundbar to the Chromecast using a HDMI audio extractor.
– The extractor splits HDMI into HDMI (video to monitor) + 3.5mm or optical (audio to speakers).

Set up the audio extractor
– Connect Chromecast → HDMI Input on extractor.
– Connect extractor HDMI Output → HP M24f.
– Connect speakers/headphones to the extractor’s audio port.

Configure Chromecast audio
– Open the Google Home app → select your Chromecast → Device Settings → Sound.
– Make sure audio is set to “Default” or “Stereo.”

Test with a streaming app
– Play a YouTube or Netflix video to confirm both picture and sound.
– If there’s delay or no sound, restart the Chromecast and speakers.

I hope this helps.
