When an external (USB) camera is connected, my HP Envy x360 laptop stops detecting the built-in audio output (RealTek speakers) and input devices. Error: "No Devices Found"
I have used the same camera for several years without issue - this started in the last week or so. I'm not sure if it started before or after a recent update. I attempted connecting a different camera and using other USB ports with the same result. As soon as I plug it in, my laptop stops seeing all audio devices. When I disconnect, they come back. Everything works fine when I connect a camera to my Microsoft Surface.
Here is what I have already tried:
- Drivers are up-to-date
- Troubleshooter: automated diagnostics to try solving your audio problem
- Reset audio devices; reset audio device services
- Disable audio enhancements
- Audio check
- "no speakers found" (hardware problem detected)
- "no microphones found (hardware problem detected)
- HP virtual agent
- Push button reset
- BIOS setup > exit > load setup defaults > save changes and exit
- Run audio test from HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)
- Update BIOS (no update available)
- System Reset PC

I'm at a total loss. I work 100% remotely, and this issue is extremely disruptive.
