The speakers on the lower right side of my laptop crackle loud even when the speakers are turned off.  This seems to happen when I have a message prompt awaiting a response from me or if I have any internet browser open.  If I close the browser, the crackling stops.  Very annoying.  When I first reported the issue, HP tech assisted with making sure all drivers were up to date but never was able to fix the issue.  Recommended that I be patient and see if a resolution is found.  Now I'm back with the same problem.

Hi,  You had assisted with suggestions to deal with the crackling sound from one of my speakers any time I am on the internet watching a video or if a popup window is shown and waiting for a response from me.  The original suggestions helped to mute the crackling noise to a low hiss but now the crackling noise is back and as loud as ever, making it disruptive for people working around me.  Apparently this started since my most recent windows updates.  I went through the previous suggestions but this time there is no improvement.  If I disable the driver for the Connexant Audio HD, the crackling goes away but then I can't hear any sound from my speakers or headphones.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @BturnerCR,

I recommend you uninstall the audio driver from the computer and download and install it from the below link.
