I have how to fix this audio problem in one of my YouTube videos.  It is a screen capture of me rolling back the audio drivers to the 2013 version; the audio quality will stay the same but the crackling noise will be gone. It es explained more in the video description

Been experiencing the same problem on my laptop. The crackling stops if you disable Beats audio.

Double click on the Beats Audio icon on the system tray -> select Listening Experience -> disable Beats Audio

The crackling stops immediately...

Drawback is that the overall volume of the speakers reduce... but that's better than the irritating crackle.

Wonder why these laptops are being shipped with a faulty device driver???

Thankyou so much! Just bought this laptop a couple days ago for my brother, and he said it started crackling when he watched his game videos 😄

This really did the trick and he is happy again 🙂 Thank you for your help!

Work around is not the way to go. I went to realtek.com looked for the newest driver installation. 2.79 it does a 2 phase install and now my issue has been resolved. 2 hours of frustration and looking at other people being frustrated, but coming to a solution always gives me pleasure.

Hmmm recurring problem, just did the whole update and now i've even rolled back, seems to have done it but for how long ?? is there a way of unistalling the beats audio ? i don't really want any enhancements, and the driver installation keeps turning it on, and do beam-forming in the record options (this for sure i don't want)
