Hi HP forum!

When my laptop boots op from sleep-mode, the audio quality via the jack is pretty unbearable. The sound starts clipping, especially in the lower frequency range, macking everything sound very "crackling". Rebooting solves the issue for thatn one time, but once the laptop starts up from sleep mode the issue will return immediately.

Reinstalling drivers hasn't helped me in the past.

Another issue, i don't know if this might be related, is that the sound via jack does not play for the first two or three seconds after pressing play on spotify/spotify/etc.

Is there a way to fix these problems?

Thanks in advance!

Hi! @Lex4

Were there any recent windows update on the PC?

Try updating windows to the latest version and check if the issue persists.

Please update the BIOS, Audio and graphics drivers on the PC to the latest version and check if it helps.

Update the BIOS using this link. Click Here

Update the audio drivers using this link. Click Here

Also, update the graphics driver using this link. Click Here

Please try the steps recommended below.

1. Right click the speaker icon on the Taskbar and select Playback devices to open Sound settings. Double click your headphones device to open the Properties.

2. Choose the Levels tab and then adjust the Microphone slider to 0. Click Apply.

3. Go to the Enhancements tab and then check the Disable all sound effects. Click OK twice to exit.

Also, Try running a system diagnostics test on the PC and check if the hardware components on the PC are functioning correctly.
