I don't get it. Why wouldn't HP just come on here and say, "we're working on it" rather than leave a crowd to their own devices?
Please don't misunderstand - I'm very happy to hear that work on this is in flight. Thrilled actually. I'm also willing to help HP out in any way I can (short of shipping this machine back). I just don't understand why PM's are becoming the channel in which information is being disseminated.

You don't actually *believe* that a team of people is actively working on fixing the problem right now do you? I don't.

We all know or should know that big corporations such as HP get too big for their boots and what the customer ends up doing is jumping through too many hoops.
We part with our well earned money to get a device that should be up to standard. If i was running a business and put out a product that had issues i would quickly incur the wrath of the law. But if you are a big corporation then it is ok.
HP (Hot Potato) are basically giving us a standard in house response that really does not get to the heart of the issue. Customers would actually be more loyal if a representative came out and said "Look, we don't have an answer at this moment" or "yes, we dropped the ball on this one". As customers, we would still be disappointed but least we would be getting a human response.
Remember, there are upper management employees who work at HP (Hot Potato) that are earning good coin and not coming through with the goods. And this issue is really getting out of hand and these latest reponses are only fanning the fires more.
They are at a crosroads. Give the people what they want or they can really alienate their loyal fan base.
I have had nothing but issues with my spectre x360 since the windows 10 upgrade. The audio, just like what others have mentioned in this thread, has been a real let down. I can't listen to videos and youtube without the crackling, low, inaudible garbage that is coming out. Before the upgrade it was working just fine.
So HP (Hot Potato), the ball is in your court. The people have spoken and now we await a direct response that actually contains easy to follow solutions.
I am sure this will be deleted.

Fun stuff. Makes me think this could be hardware related. It feels like a software issue, but I'm wondering now...

Hi all,
Just a quick post from me to say I'm also experiencing the crackling audio from time to time - mostly when playing youtube video's. To me it sounds a bit like static interference, if that makes any sense.. Pausing the video for a second or two usually resolves the problem for a while, but sometimes it comes back almost immediately. I don't play a lot of music on my Spectre x360 Convertible 13-4020nd with Realtek audio, so I have no experience with other audio issues using other music players.
I really hope HP will provide a 100% solution to this problem, otherwise I'm returning my device and will look out for another machine. It's a shame, since apart from the crackling it is a very, very fine ultrabook.
Kindest regards,
Ronald

I saw another Spectre x360 owner on campus and asked him about the most common issues. He doesn't have problems with Wi-Fi range but he keeps the keyboard backlight off because the it's hard to see during the daytime if he keeps it on. He says his speakers have the crackling but when he plugs in headphones it goes away.

I just played music out of the speakers for probably the 3rd time since ive owned it and i did notice the crackeling with DTS off. Have not listened through my headphones enough yet to know if i still have that issue.
