HP Notebook 15-ay137cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I had a Windows 10 update last night and after restarting there was no audio device installed. Took me some time to get to reinstall the audio. I finally managed to get it back but I lost the DTS audio control panel, it loads the Realtek generic one with absolutely no audio enhancement options!

I have tried the following:

-Remove Realtek Audio Drivers/software, then restart and reinstall it. Also tried the chipset reinstall method as seen in another forum thread. No luck!

-Reinstalled SP78234

I do have audio working but not the DTS panel for enhancements, please help!

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP Notebook - 15-ay137cl laptop. I read that post a Win10 update, the audio was not working. You later installed the audio drivers and got the audio working. However, the DTS audio panel is missing. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.

I suggest you download and install the DTS sound control panel via this HP link. Please follow the onscreen instructions to install it.

I hope this does the trick. Let me know what happens. Cheers! 🙂

Tried it & no solution.

None of the sp's install the DTS control panel & none install the realtek driver only the generic windows.

Have sound but its not great & no DTS panel!!!

Which this cold be figured out...

History

New used zbook 15 under warranty til 2 /2018 Product Number : F2P54UT

Audio problem
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76E0&SUBSYS_103C1909&REV_1003\4&1f02d1b0&0&0001 requires further installation.
Seems to be IDT codec

Sound card IDT 92HD91BXX (111d:76e0) Rev.(00100303) ?

Realtek ver 6.0.1.7564 not installing dts

Have low audio & no audio control panel on zbook 15 G1. Not sure if its realtek or IDT.
Installed realtek driver ver 6.0.1.7564 but it fails to install a realtek driver. Does install a MS generic audio driver.
Want to get the sound control center but maybe the notebook is IDT not realtek?
I do have this under details in device mgr

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76E0&SUBSYS_103C1909&REV_1003\4&1f02d1b0&0&0001 requires further installation.

Realtek 3.0..0.3 copied from zbook 15 G2 won't install
sp78234 DTS audio will not install
sp72470 also installs generic audio hd driver
Then installed sp79841 which installs generic hd audio driver with no realtek software & no dedicated control panel
Laptop is possibly IDT audio but have not found a reputable safe source for software/driver.

Finally installed sp78198 & currently got sp78234 to install & it does not install the dts audio control panel or the realtek driver just the generic win same as the more recent sp79841 installed earlier with same results both did not provide solution.

Been trying to resolve this for 5 days!

I really want the dedicated HD audio control panel...

Plese help.

Since Realtek was not working I installed IDT & I at least got the SRS control panel to install.

Not perfect but installed the IDT setup from my 8570W & it installed the SRS Pro sound control panel

not the SRS Premium Sound Pro that the same software that runs in the 8570W.

Have much better sound now in the music mode but voice & 3D movie selections are low still.

Running in music so least have much louder sound.

Still not sure what is supposed to run on the Zbook15 but least sound is acceptable now with the old 2012 driver for IDT wich is much better than the new win driver from 7/2017.

Still would like to get the laptop back to where it is supposed to be which I think is the DTS audio panel.

The laptop has 3 more months of warranty left. Can I get the original audio software somewhere?

Thanks

Had an idea to check out audio for win 8.1 for the z book & downloaded SP65631 for IDT audio from 2014.

It installed the DTS control panel!!!!

So have good sound with the DTS control panel not the SRS from the 8570W.

Odd IDT had the DTS control panel for the Gbook but Realtek with the DTS for G2...

Oh well....
