Hello!
I've just brought a HP 2 in 1 Convertabile laptop for school and i've been having some issues 5 days into owning it.
On any random ocasion i will be sitting there watching youtube or listening to music on the laptop and the sound will become distorted and then the sound will go completely, i checked the HP Support assitant and the computer required an update for my audio driver which i installed, it then became worse, it happened again and then my computer wouldnt regonise the speakers and it would say i didnt have an audio driver which i checked in Programs and Features and the driver was there.
i uninstalled the driver and re-installed it through HP website and its still happening, this is very worrying for me as this is my primary device used for my school work and TAFE, i need this fixed!
there is also an Driver update that wont install it will fail everytime i try to install it, that is the Intel Serial IO Driver.
Please i need help i really dont want to get it replaced as it could send my schooling back a few weeks.
thanks!

Hi @Xenoxi_73,
Welcome to HP Forum! This is a great place to get assistance!
I would be happy to help you with your HP x360 - 11-ab033tu.
I understand that you are getting distorted sound from your laptop and there is an update for Intel IO drivers which does not get installed.
You can try the below steps to fix the issue.
Use the troubleshooting tool in Windows
The audio troubleshooting tool in Windows can automatically fix common audio recording and audio playback problems with your computer.
Run the troubleshooting tool using the following steps:
- In Windows, type find and fix audio into Search, or right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Troubleshoot sound problems.
- Select Find and fix audio playback problems or Find and fix audio recording problems from the Search results.
- Click Next.
- Select the device you want to troubleshoot and click Next.
- Wait while the troubleshooter detects problems and makes changes (or prompts you to make changes)
- When the troubleshooter is done, the Troubleshooting has completed page is displayed, listing any problems found and what changes were made to the computer.
- NOTE: For detailed information about the troubleshooting, click View detailed information in the troubleshooter window.
- Click Close.
- If a recommended action is displayed, select Apply this fix or Skip this step to continue to search for other problems.
- If the audio problem has not been resolved, continue to the next step.
- Test external speakers or headphones
If the audio problem has not been resolved, use this guided trouble-shooter to further troubleshoot the issue.
For IO driver related issue I would suggest that you uninstall the HP Support Assistant then install the latest version of from here.
then trying updating the IO drivers using the HP Support Assistant.
Please let me know how this goes.
I genuinely hope that the issue gets resolved without hassles.
Have a great day!

So i did the troubleshooter and it checked my Audio drivers, the only solution i can see is to turn off the audio enchantments, which i did and i can see difference BUT DTS Audio Control keeps re-enabling it which is a pain can you please see if there is a way to disable it indefinitely?

It looks like you were interacting with @The_Fossette, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Riddle_Decipher & I'm at your service.
The best thing to do is disable the application on the taskbar and here are the steps:
- Go to task manager, start, disable the Audio Realtek entry.
- Restart the computer.
Let me know how that pans out
I hope you have a good day ahead,
