My speakers are suddenly producing a distorted, buzzy sound. This started after I shut down my laptop and turned it on after 2 days of not using it (I had it on my desk in its usual spot). The audio is perfectly normal with my headphones in.
I have checked and updated drivers and all system updates. Would appreciate any ideas and fixes!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the audio is distorted from the speakers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
Run Audio Troubleshooter
- Launch Troubleshooting by typing and clicking “Troubleshooting” in Windows search.
- Click on "Playing Audio".
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
If you continue facing the issue, then install all the Windows updates (including optional) and check.
Here is how it is done.
- Select the Start (Windows) button from the bottom-left corner.
- Go to settings (gear icon).
- Select the Update and Security icon.
- Choose Windows Update tab in the sidebar (Circular arrows)
- Select Check for updates. If there is an available update, it will begin downloading automatically.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
