I had to download drivers for my H.P. Envy 15 j100 select laptop. When I did, the volume doesn"t work the same as it was originally. The master control and hp speaker control cannot work together. It's either one or the other. I'm asking is there a different driver now?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across you post and would like to help. I understand that you have an HP ENVY 15t laptop and the volume does not work. The master control and hp speaker control cannot work together. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I recommend you to perform the below steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a solution:
- Power off the laptop.
- Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and cannot be removed then leave the battery inside the laptop.
- Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
- Power ON the laptop.
If the issue still persists then please perform the steps from this link. The solutions are explained in detail in this document: http://hp.care/2hKJXEk
NOTE: Step 8 from the above link is very important in running the hardware test on the audio.
Hope this helps. Please keep me posted for more help. Cheers! 🙂
