I have envy 13 ah002

from the first time I powered it ON there is crackling noise. I found it weird since there are no mechanical parts except fan.

than I tried using headphones and heard that noise in headphones! At this time I realised that sound is coming from speakers from time to time even if I dont play any media and I just do typing.

This was from factory settings first power ON! after running HP support assistant and updating drivers etc. the noise is still there!

WHat should I do to make it stop ?

For HP support :envy does not have removable battery so please no advice to remove battery and run updates.

FYI: probably not in connection with crackling noise, but anyway: Using headphones is impossible since there is somekind of surround and you can only hear background music very loud and cannot hear any dialogues. How can I use headphones to hear normal ?

@marko-mb

Welcome to the HP Support Community

Could you please help me with the operating system of your notebook?

Let's delete the drivers from the Device Manager.

1. Press Windows+X to open the menu, and choose Device Manager on it.

2. In the device manager, expand the category "Audio inputs and outputs".

3. Under this category, right click on the drivers and click on Uninstall.

4. You may be required to confirm the uninstallation. Check the box next to "Delete the driver software for this device" and click OK button.

Update the drivers from Windows Update.

Select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Have a great day!

Cheers:)
