Hi Guys
My inbuilt speakers (B&O) have stopped working in Windows. "no audio devices found" is shown when I right click the speaker icon in the task bar.
In Device Manager "Intel smart sound technology OED" has a warning triangle but when I try and update or change it tells me I have the latest update and gives no alternative. I have tried deleting it but it returns after I reboot. There does not appear to be any driver installed that I would associate with inbuilt speakers such as Realtec HD drivers.
I have run all the HP assistant diagnostics but they have not helped.
(I ran the audio test on the HP BIOS based diagnostic tool and the speakers work fine)
Can you help please? Thanks!

Hi Jos1.
I am posting this to let you know how I finally resolved the issue and to hopefully help others with the same probelm.
Thank you for trying to help me but unfortunately none of your suggestions worked, so I contacted HP support.
Afte unsucessfully trying to install the missing drivers as we had done, they tried a BIOS reinstall which did not work so they did a factory reset with the Windows Media Creation Tool.

You need a USB stick with at least 32GB for this. After implimenting this AND DOING ALL THE UPDATES my laptop finally installed the Realtek HD drivers and could see my internal speakers!
Note: While going through the reinstall steps I got stuck at a "we need to connect to your wifi" page because at that point my wifi could not be found! If this happens to others these steps need to be taken:
In the "Let's connect you to a network" screen, press Shift+F10 to launch cmd;
Type the following command: OOBE\BYPASSNRO
After successful execution, the system will restart and restart the OOBE session box, when you reach the "Let's connect you to a network" screen, click "I don't have Internet", continue to click "limited setup", accept the license agreement and continue to create a local user account.
I hope this is of some assistance to others!
Thanks again for your help.

The only driver shown as installed in Device manager (under Sound video and game controllers) is cirrus logic awesome speaker amps (show hidden devices is active). If I uninstall it its back after I reboot. I have tried to install Realtek HD audio driver in the hope it will find the internal B&O speakers but they will not install. After clicking install the zip file extracts then I get a rotating circle for 10 seconds then nothing!

Hello Houmous, go to the device manager and the driver that is in yellow, click on the right mouse button and search for drivers automatically, click on examine my computer for drivers, you will see the drivers you have to install.
I also leave you the Bang & Olufsen download link

Hi Jos1. Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately when I right click on Intel Smart Technology OED driver and follow your instructions it just gives me the same driver as an option and then says it cant install it - error code 10.
I downloaded extracted and installed the B&O driver you sent me but I cannot see it listed in Device Manager and my PC still cannot see my internal B&O speakers. When I try and run the B&O audio control app it says cannot connect to RPC service.
Can you advise? Many thanks.

Hello Houmous, I am going to leave you a download link that is compressed, create a new folder in documents or wherever you choose, there in that folder extract the compressed files, then go to Control Panel, Device Manager, display, sound controllers and video and gaming devices, in the Conexant ISST audio driver, right click and update driver, do not click on update automatically, click on Browse my PC for drivers, on the next screen, in browse, enter the address where the folder is and click on the option, choose from a list of drivers available on the computer. The driver must appear to install, just check it and install the driver. I leave you two drivers links and create two different folders to unzip, then follow the steps I have indicated.
I hope the problem is solved.
Greetings.

Hi Jos1. Thanks for coming back so quickly.
I only have one audio driver showing in the" Sound controllers......." category. "cirrus logic awesome speaker amps". Should I try and install over this? Which driver on your pack should I use to do this?
Thanks

Hello Houmous, you're welcome, it's a pleasure to help you, create two different folders to extract the contents of the two compressed files that you have downloaded, one you can name bos and the other Bang, extract each compressed file in each folder and then Follow the steps that I have told you, device manager and update, examine my PC for drivers and install the driver that appears.
Greetings.

Hi Jos1.
Thanks for your reply.
I only have one non bluetooth driver showing under "Sound video and game controllers" which is "Cirrus Logic Awesome Speaker Amps".
I have downloaded and extracted your files but when I try and update the Cirrus Logic Awesome Speaker Amps driver, following your instructions and entering the location of either of the two extracted files I just get "best driver already installed." (see screenshots).
Can you advise please? Do I need to install an additional new driver from your folder first? Thanks.

Hello Houmous, sorry but it is difficult to find the driver, I finally managed to find it and I hope it installs it for you because it includes Bang & Olufsen. It is compressed and you have to unzip it, many compressed files will appear inside, a folder will appear and you will create one with the name Bang & Olufsen so that you do not make a mistake, there you go unzipping the folders as I have told you and it should appear the Bang & Olufsen.exe application to install.
I leave you the link and if you don't know something, tell me. I hope you can install Bang & Olufsen.
