Hi,

You're welcome, glad it helped :generic:

There seems to a problem with the first ( and latest ) driver as Windows cannot seem to verify the digital signature of the file, so it stops it from working.  The second driver is just a slightly earlier version.  To avoid this, the best advice is to only update the audio driver if you have an issue with the one currently installed - driver updates don't usually cause this sort of problem but they are also usually unnecessary in the first place.  You could also save the driver installer you know works if anything goes wrong and just run it again to reinstall this driver, which you know works.

All the best,

Yes David, I will try to enjoy the weekend,  but unfortunately here, around Montreal we have lots of rain and serious flooding. They even had to bring the army to help. But where I am it's safe.

Cheers,

Maurice

Thank you for the help with my Pavilion dv4=1220us Entertainment Notebook PC.  I updated my BIOS and drivers and my sound was still not working because the mute button above the keyboard would not turn off.  I followed your advice to this user's post and, after other attempts on other days and earlier attempts today had failed, voila, your download worked!!

Hi,

I have a ProBook 6450b and this does not work for me.

When I try and execute the file it says "the hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The install will be aborted."

Any ideas?

Thanks

External mute button will not  turn off, but internal controls  work and per volume icon, sound is on
