dear All,

i have an issue with the f8, hotkey mute. i changed my hard drive with a bigger one and the hot key for muting the mic, does not work.

i suppose its a driver issue, which drivers should be installed in order to solve the problem?

Hello,

When I experienced this issue, I had to update my audio driver and reboot for the mute button to work.

You could try downloading the latest driver here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-1040-g4-notebook-pc/11623738/model/116...

Alternatively, you could use HP SUpport Assistant to find the drivers for you.

Or you could go to Device manager > sound, video and game controllers, un-install the audio driver(s) then reboot and let windows re-install it for you.

Good luck
