Hello, I have music on an old flash drive that was originally downloaded via Windows 7.
When I tried to load it into Windows 10, half of the contents cannot be played.
A pop up states ""Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
Windows support told me to contact HP for the firmware updates for Codec.
I know nothing about this stuff. Please Please Help me🎶.......I'm missing my Beatles!

Thank you...found the codecs for my player. 😁 Now I need to figure out my next step.
I read: "To determine what codec was used with a specific file, play the file in the Player and check Properties. On the File tab, look at the Audio codec and Video codec sections."
Got it but, I checked one song with WMA File (.wma) that plays with either Grove app or Windows media.
Yet another song WMA File (.wma) doesn't play on either and the Pop up states
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
Oh dear, another conundrum. Where do I go from here?
