I have a 3-month-old HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0000 Product number: 4Z506UA#ABA running win 11 version 22H2. Around the end of December, the generic USB audio driver started stopping while play sound through the external speaker system. It has the latest driver from Microsoft. Trouble shooting fixes the problem by reinstalling the driver and having me to restart the PC. This fix only last for a while and stops working. I have tried uninstalling the driver and it does no better. The Microsoft web site only offers the same driver version that it has now. I do not have the enhancements turned on and the external speaker system it is connected to is only 2 years old and was connected to a win 10 PC and worked fine.
It should be noted that the speaker system worked fine in this PC for almost 2 months. I have also moved the USB plug to a different port on this PC which did no better.

lease perform a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.
(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp141001-141500/sp141086.exe
(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

Thank you for your reply. It did not work. I tried it, but did not think it would work. That Realtek driver is what operates the speakers in the laptop. As i stated in initial post, the problem exists in the USB audio generic driver, that operates the external speaker system.
