I've been using the music app "Poweramp" on my Nexus 4 phone for my commute listening (Using the Klipsch Image S4), and I enjoy the sound that I get with the "Bass and Treble" preset using the in-app equalizer.
I'm using a Gigabyte P27G V2-CF1 Laptop, with Foobar2000. The laptop has an audio driver called "VIA HD Audio" or something along those lines.
No matter how much I fiddle with the equalizer in Foobar I can't seem to get a similar sound to my phone, and music sounds very "echoey". I can't find a very good way of describing it - it doesn't sound tinny, but rather that emphasis is placed in the wrong areas. Bass is almost non-existent.
The same differences are present between the phone & laptop no matter which headphones I'm using, if the differences between the headphones are ignored.
What do?
