Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm having an issue when the HDMI is connected the video works but no audio output. This started happening after i did a wipe of my device and reboot of windows 10 through Geek Squad.  They have told me after bringing it back that it is a hardware issue but I don't think this is the case and would like to verify.  The driver doesn't display at all in the playback devices when connected and tv is on, and when I go to the device drivers the High Definition Audio Device has this as the device status.

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful."

I have tried updating the driver and manually installing the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver which installs the HDMI audio driver but I get an error there as well as follows.

"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. Setup will exit."

Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?

Hi:

Here's what you need to do to get the HDMI audio to work...

Download and save, but do not run this W10 Intel graphics driver.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72001-72500/sp72370.exe

Download and install this free file utility.  The 2nd file is for 64 bit.

http://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the Intel graphics driver file you downloaded.

Select 7-Zip from the list of items.

Have 7-zip Extract to:  and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp72370).

After 7-zip creates the driver folder, go to the device manager and click on the High Definition Audio device with the ! mark.

Click on the driver tab, click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder 7-zip created.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the Intel HDMI driver should install.

Then restart the PC, and you should have both video and audio playing from the HDMI out port.

It worked thank you very much buddy, why is it needed to do a work around to install that driver like that?  Does that have to do with windows, HP, or both?

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately I don't know exactly why it happens.

It seems to be an issue with the W10 Intel graphics driver and Windows 10.

The graphics driver is failing to install the HDMI audio when it runs, so you have to go back and manually install the HDMI audio driver.

Many forum members had this same issue, which is why I knew what needed to be done.
