HP Envy TS m7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had to reinstall windows 10 64 bit on my laptop.....prior to that, audio was fine with the HDMI cable....just plugged it into any TV and it worked....now, I get video but not audio.

HP Troubleshooter says everything is up to date.

I did have an exclanation poiint in the Hi Definiation audio device in device manager.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and same thing.

Knowing that the audio driver installs with the HDMI video driver, I figured that was my next thing to try...so I  used the hP website and tried to use the Intel Hi Definition  (HD) Graphics DRiver...sp72370....and during the install it errors and says "the driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtgain the apropriate driver from the computer manufacturer"

LOL...HP provided the driver based on the serial number of my laptop....cant get any more specific than that....

ANy ideas on a qucik fix?

You are a LIFESAVER!!!

Cant understand why the official driver install executable wouldnt work but installing seperately would?

Never thought to do this...you rock!  Thanks so much!

You're very welcome.

Me either.

But at least we have an effective workaround.
