Hello, recently the sound of my laptop disappeared. I have no sound from the built in speakers and from the headphone jack. I connected my TV with HDMI and the TV plays the sound though. So I tried to update my BIOS, reinstalled and updated the drivers, but still no sound. The OS acts like there is no problem, it recognises that there is a sound card. What I noticed is that the HP diagnostic tool doesn't recognise whenever I plug headphones in. And the other thing is the F6 button (mute). When I press it, it mutes the sound, according to the icon on the taskbar, but the strange thing is that usually a white led in the button used to light up, when it's muted, but now the light doesn't come on. Anyone had such an experience? What could be the problem? I don't think it is software related though, because I used the UEFI diagnostic tool, which should bypass the software related problems.
