HP 620 upgraded to windows and now no sound

Hello

I upgraded my HP from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Every since then, i am having sound issues. There is no sound whatsoever even if i use external speakers, bluetooth speakers, headsets etc. 

I believe this is a driver issue. Any ideas please what to do? I have tried everything else.

Hi:

If the sound was working on W7, and now it isn't, yes most likely it is a driver issue.

The problem is your notebook has the IDT audio system, which does not work well on W10, and HP provides no W8, 8.1 or W10 driver support for your notebook.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if this W10 IDT audio driver from a newer model notebook also works on yours by some miracle.  Restart the PC after installing the driver.

If it doesn't work, you will either have to live without no audio, or reinstall Windows 7.

Thank you for your feedback. I tried to install the driver but it did not complete because of an error saying my IDT cannot be upgraded with the IDT audio system you sent. Oh well..like you said..either live without sound or go back to windows 7.
