Microsoft Windows 11

Each time I have a meeting through Teams or Zoom, afterwards the HP Audio Control box keeps opening and closing. If I close it, it comes right back. How can I stop this?

@kishajohnson, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The recurring popup of the HP Audio Control window on your Windows 11 system—especially after using Zoom or Teams—suggests a conflict with Bang & Olufsen / Realtek Audio drivers or with HP Audio Control's background services being triggered unnecessarily.
Please follow these steps,

Disable HP Audio Control Startup

  • Right-click on the taskbar and choose Task Manager.
  • Go to the Startup apps tab.
  • Look for HP Audio Control or Bang & Olufsen Audio Control.
  • Right-click it and select Disable.
  • Restart your PC.

Update or Reinstall the Audio Driver

  • Go to Device Manager.
  • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  • Right-click on Realtek Audio or Bang & Olufsen Audio.
  • Select Update driverSearch automatically.
  • If that fails, go to HP support site for your laptop model and download the latest audio driver manually.

Uninstall HP Audio Control (Safe if You Don’t Use It)

  • Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  • Search for HP Audio Control.
  • Click the 3-dot menu next to it and choose Uninstall.
  • Restart your PC.

Why It Happens:

  1. HP Audio Control is often triggered by audio profile changes (e.g., microphone vs. speaker switching).
  2. Apps like Teams or Zoom can trigger HP's audio service even after they've closed.
  3. A glitched background service or outdated driver can keep looping the app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
