Hi. I've searched for hours for a fix for this, but haven't found one yet. We have approximately 70 HP EliteBook 840 G6 / G8 models, and have been having some microphone issues with some of them. I'll use mine for a specific example.
The HP Audio Control software that comes with the laptop no longer allows me to control the Microphone Noise Reduction. Other items in the HP Audio Control software work (equalizer, Speaker Noise Reduction, etc.), but the Microphone options no longer allow me to change anything (off/on, conference/personal, Microphone Mode Notification, etc.). I'll include an image if I can figure out how to.
Everything I've circled in red no longer lets me change anything. It used to.
I have:
- Restarted the computer
- Used HP Support Assistant to download latest drivers / bios
- Used HP Image Assistant to download latest drivers / bios
- Removed the Realtek device from Device Manager
- Manually reinstalled the Realtek device by manually downloading the most recent driver
I've tried many of the 'general' suggestions I found online, but nothing seems to work. Any specific information about this issue would be appreciated.
Some computer specs of my machine with the issue:
- HP EliteBook 840 G8
- 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz
- 16.0 GB
- Windows 11 Enterprise
- 21H2
- 22000.434
- Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.434.0
Thanks in advance for the help! Have a good day everyone!
