HP Spectre x360 - 13-aw0013dx

My speakers/sound randomly stopped working. The little speaker icon in the lower right corner was permanently muted and I was unable to unmute it! I TRIED EVERYTHING that all the forums had listed and nothing worked.

What I did.

Downloaded the Real Teck Sound Driver that my HP supported (found this through the help portal & it detected my device)

Chose the Sound Drivers, installed the 2020 version.

Typed in Control Panel in the Search Bar at the bottom of my screen.

Chose the Hardware and Sound option.

From there, Devices and Printers.

Clicked on my laptop icon.

This will pull up the properties of your computer.

From here I searched for anything related to Sound- *If you go to the little yellow and blue shield icon on the lower left of each of the "properties" sections you can change them without going back to the device manger*

First I clicked on Intel Smart Sound Technology Properties & made sure it was Enabled, Updated & working properly.

Scrolled down, clicked on Intel Display Audio Properties & made sure it was Enabled, Updated & working properly.

Scrolled down more, clicked on Intel High Definition Audio Properties & DISABLED IT.

THEN BOOM IT WORKED!!

I hope this works for yall as well as it did me!
