Howdy doo, Folks!  I recently purchased an HP Chromebook x360 (an awesome piece of hardware), and am having difficulties with playing music through my JBL Xtreme bluetooth speaker (CE0700, HXTREMBLK - 18867).  The two will pair; however, the Chromebook continues to play music, the Xtreme will not (note, the Xtreme plays flawlessly through my Moto g7 Maxx).  Are these two non-compatible?

  Thank you and enjoy a great day -- TechVirgin

@TechVirgin Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues pairing with JBL Xtreme Bluetooth speaker with HP Chromebook.

Do not worry. Let's work together and get this issue addressed.

Please perform the below steps and check.

Pair a Bluetooth accessory

  1. At the bottom right, select the time.
  2. Select Bluetooth .
  3. If Bluetooth is off, turn on Bluetooth.
  4. Select the accessory you want to connect to.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish connecting.
  6. To check if your accessory is connected, look under "Paired devices."

Note: Your phone doesn’t pair to your Chromebook with Bluetooth, but you can connect to your phone's network

If you have trouble using a Bluetooth device with your Chromebook, try these steps:

  • Check for system updates. If any updates are available, install them.
  • Turn Bluetooth off, then back on.
  • Turn your Chromebook off, then back on.
