It appears every conferencing monitor we have purchased is now having issues with either the MIC, Sound, Team or all of them. We have validated this on HP 243m and now the HP E24m G4 that comes with every new hire purchase and we have validated this on both HP and Dell laptops (both use Realtek sound).
If the speakers and MIC are enabled on the monitors then eventually at some point either the MIC, sound or Teams will stop working. It may just randomly start working again, but that is not typical. When this occurs, you can't even get into the sound settings of Windows. Teams may suddenly close on you or it may not even open as it will say it has ran into a problem and needs to restart and just loops. However, the instant you disable the devices through either the OSD Menu of the monitor or through the Sound, video and game controllers of Device Manager all instantly starts working again and will continue to do so without issue. Unfortunately with the Device Manager method, if the user connects to another location with the monitors, it will recreate them and potentially cause the issue again. This is also not a viable solution for those users that want to have the laptop closed and use the monitor for sound and MIC.
Thus far I have determined that using the HDMI or USB-C causes it on the HP E24m and it doesn't matter if they are plugged into an HP Thunderbolt dock, Dell Thunderbolt dock or no dock at all.
I am looking for a better solution than disabling the Audio through the OSD menu of the monitor.

I am having a similar issue. If I enable the speakers on the E24M G4 no sound will come out and any video will stop. Sometimes it seems to cause a USB crash and I get an error saying the USB device can't be recognized. This causes everything connected to the dock such as LAN to crash as well. I've updated the latest drivers and firmware and no help. I'm connecting from an HP Zbook using USB-C.
