Product name: HP ENVY 14-1191ez
Product number: XE684EA#UUZ
Hello,
I recently upgraded my HP Envy Notebook from Windows 7 Home x64 to the latest WIndows 10 Version 1709, Fall Creators Update. Most drivers were installed through the Windows update assistant, but there's still no sound coming from my Notebook.
I've tried to install the IDT High-Definition Audio driver from the HP support website, but the installation failed and aborted. Updating the driver manually via Deivce Manager didn't resolve the problem either, I simply can not install the IDT High-Definition Audio driver.
I'm very frustrated after trying many hours and days to resolve the issue.
Please help me.

Hello @Paul_Tikkanen,
I could finally resolve the issue. Although, not with the method you have suggested. I disabled the AMD Graphic and the AMD Audio driver, then uninstalled and removed the device node. I also removed any device listed in the sound category. After that, I was looking for some hidden devices (devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices) and found out, that there's was an unlisted Audio Device on High Definition Audio BUS under the category for Other Devices. I clicked on the button to update driver, and browsed to the SP63555 folder of previous extracted files from the package. There, I picked up the STWRT.inf file (WDM\Vista folder) and could manually install the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC to my suprise. I went ahead (after a restart) and executed the SP63555 setup without any issue. I believe that the issue was caused with the AMD Audio driver that somehow conflicted with the install of the IDT driver.
Finally everything is installed:
DxDiag also do recognize the audio drivers now:

Have you tried to fully uninstall the driver and reinstall the driver? You could also try searching the Hardware ID to see if HP has a Windows 10 X64 Driver from another laptop that might work.

Thanks for the quick relpy.
I already tried that, multiple times without much success. I'm unsure which would be the correct Hardware ID as DxDiag does not recognize any driver, description is empty. Printing the information leaves me following:

Hi, @ChrisM86
The only suggestion I can offer would be to try this W10 IDT audio driver from a slightly newer notebook than yours.
Install and restart the PC...
This package contains the driver that enables the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.
6.10.6491.0 Windows 10 (64-bit)

You're very welcome.
Sorry that driver didn't work.
That was the only one that had any chance of working.
The only other thing you can do would be to try this...
Go to the device manager and click to expand the Sound, video and game controllers device category.
1. Select the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC under that category.
2. Select Driver tab.
3. Click the Update Driver button.
4. Select -> Browse my computer for driver software.
5. Select -> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. Select High Definition Audio Device (Not IDT High Def... this is important.) and click Next.
A warning message may appear, but click Yes.
7. Windows has successfully updated your driver software.
8. Restart the PC.
The key is step 6.
