Product: HP Elitebook 840 G6
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All

I have an audio issue with a brand new HP Elitebook 840G6 running WIndows 10 64bit (build 2004), hoping someone can assist. Device manager is reporting that it's unable to load driver for Intel® Smart Sound Technology (Intel® SST) OED. The machines audio is not working (mic and speakers) as it can't find any devices installed. I have updated audio drivers and HP Assistant is not reporting any outdated drivers. Does anyone have a clue on what is happening here?

I just had this issue on a whole shipment of new laptops. Some had sound most didn't.

 

I preformed a windows update including optional updates/update firmware and drivers and made sure the updates were all completed. It required a few restarts.

 

That worked for me.
