Thank you for the information. When I checked the software and driver page for your notebook, I noted there are two audio drivers listed. Try downloading the "Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver 6.0.1.7730 Rev.B" and save it to a known location. Now uninstall the existing driver and install the one you just downloaded.  Did anything change?

I've installed the new driver but nothing has changed unfortunately

Thank you for the update. You can try doing a refresh and if the issue remains then do a full recovery. HP PCs - Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 10). Should this not alleviate the difficulty please contact HP support for further assistance. With your permission, they can remotely access your system to help find and fix issues.  Contact HP Support  Fill out the online form and follow the prompts. Please keep me apprised of the outcome.

I spoke to a technician but it turns out it is a hardware issue and I need to get the laptop replaced 😞
