Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

After installed a fresh Windows 10 64bit, there is one High Definition Audio Device doesn't work well, I tried different ways but nothing works so far, can you please kindly advise where should be done to fix this driver issue?

HP Support and Assisant doesn't have a hardware scan and driver installation function...

Thanks

Kevin

Hi:

If your notebook's speakers are working, and your notebook has an Intel processor, then you need to install the Intel HDMI audio driver, which is part of the Intel graphics driver.

If installing the W10 Intel graphics driver doesn't automatically install the Intel HD audio device, manually install it from the device in the device manager and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the graphics driver.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp##### where ##### is the driver file name.

Get your full Model number or Product number from the Service Tag attached to bottom of laptop (may be under battery)> How To Find Model/Product Number

Once you have the info, use the button at top of this page titled "Support", then click "Software and Drivers" from the menu. On the next page enter your Model Number. After entering  click 'Find my product' button. On the next page be sure correct OS is selected-if not click Change to edit .A list will populate with drivers/software.

Download & Save the latest Audio driver. Once it has downloaded-click to run it.

This is the one in SW folder and on the HP website after I put in my laptop info.

After installed this one, nothing changed, the driver still missing from one of the two audio devices.

Hi:

Download and save but do not run this graphics driver.

This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72001-72500/sp72370.exe

Download and install this free file utility.  The 2nd driver at the top of the page is for 64 bit.

http://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-zip, right click on the above Intel graphics driver file you saved.

Select 7-Zip from the list of items on the menu.

Have 7-Zip Extract to:  And let it extract the file into its folder name (sp72370).

Once that is done, go to the device manager.   Click on the HD Audio device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder 7-Zip created.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.
