I seem to be having the same problem as many others with windows update disabling my beats audio.
I have uninstalled the audio driver, (resulting in a very tinny audio) then reinstalled the latest audio driver from the HP website (last updated 2013?!)
And I get a higher quality audio but it's still from the bottom of the laptop and not the beats speaker on top of the keyboard.
Is there any fix for this?
The driver is sp63555 if that helps.

Hi,

It may be worth trying the slightly later version of the IDT HD Audio Software package below.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71886.exe

When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

This worked, audio now comes from the beats speakers and not the 'under laptop' speakers. Thank you.
