Dear Anyone,
So, every time I start up my Hp Envy laptop the default audio level is set to 67 for some reason.
I've tried everything I could to possibly change it, I looked through everything including the middleman software like Bang & Olufsen (Audio Software of Envy).
But there doesn't seem to be a possible solution to my problem.
The reason this is such a problem for me is that whenever I start up my laptop, it's very early in the morning and the problem with that and the mixture of 67 Volume with a random notification is that it is VERY LOUD and it wakes my family members up as well as startle me when I'm caught off guard.
I've tried multiple things so far
Lately, every time I start up my laptop I hover over the volume button to either instantly mute or to quickly turn down the volume all the way from 67 to 0.
Although there was one minor solution I found, if I really want to change the default volume level I could set the volume to whatever I want (for me it's 0) and restart the laptop right then and there, then the next time I reopen my laptop or when it finishes restarting it will be at the volume I previously set it before 0.
But even that has its limits. After a few startups, it will go back to its same old standard annoying default volume...67 (which by the way is coincidentally my unlucky number)
As I said, I've looked through the settings and there's nothing I could find so um please help me.
Thank You,
Ethan KL.

Hi! @EthanKL,
Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.
Please try the steps recommended below.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
Go to Search, type services.msc, and go to Services.
Find Windows Audio, right click on it, and go to Properties.
First, make sure that Startup type is set to Automatic.
Then, click on Stop, and wait for the process to stop.
Now, click to Start again.
Restart your computer, and check if the issue is resolved.
You may restart the laptop once.
If you still have issues try the steps recommended below.
Go to Windows Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers section.
In the list of audio device drivers, look for Realtek High definition Audio. This is the device driver for BeatsAudio (a little bit sneaky, wouldn’t you say?).
Right-click and select Disable. The downward arrow displays on this driver, indicating it is disabled. (NOTE: At this point, you won’t be able to play any music files.)
Right-click and select Update Driver Software.
Select Browse my computer for driver software.
Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
You should see a window that says Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. NOTE: If you see a window that says something like This is the best driver for this device, exit the window and repeat steps 4, 5, and 6.
In the Model box, highlight High Definition Audio Device (this is the substitute audio device driver) and click Next.
At the Update Driver Warning window, click Yes. You should see a confirmation window with High Definition Audio Device displayed. Click Close.
In the list of audio device drivers in the Sound, video and game controllers section, you’ll notice that the High Definition Audio Device now displays instead of Realtek High definition Audio.
At the prompt to reboot, click Yes.
If the issue still persists try the steps recommended below.
Is the loudness equalization off? If not, please try the steps mentioned below.
Right, click the speaker icon
select 'Playback Devices'.
Highlight the default device
Click Properties
Click Enhancements tab
Next to 'Loudness Equalization' take out the check mark in the box.
Click Apply
Click OK
If the issue still persists uninstall the audio driver from the device manager and install the latest version of audio driver and BIOS using HP support assistant.
