The Speaker volume for my HP Envy is very low compared to the day I bought it. I didn't download any enhancing or audio altering software, one day I just turned my laptop on and the audio was quieter than normal. I've made sure the volume is maximized in the Volume Mixer, the "Levels" in Speaker Properties is 100 (Max), in the Bang and Olufsen Audio Control Panel, everything is maxed as well.
I've tried updating, uninstalling and reinstalling, and rolling back the drivers. I've searched on google for days, looking for an answer, and I've read about many similar problems resolved in ways that don't work for me. Like...
-Updating/Uninstalling/Reinstalling Drivers: As I mentioned earlier, I tried all this, and the audio is the same.
-Trouble Shoot Sound problems: This option went through different drivers, all quieter than the current one, and some completely silent. No fix.
-Disabling "Enhancements": This was the most common fix I saw people claim worked for them, and unfortunately, the "Enhancements" tab only shows "Endpoint name" on my computer, doing absolutely nothing for me.
Hardware Acceleration/Exclusive Mode/Communications Tab: I've fiddled with these settings, seeing no change, and I've ensured that When Windows detects communications activity, it does nothing.
In the playback window, when I'm playing music, it only shows my speaker reaching 10-20% of it's maximum level.
Please, help me. I just want to enjoy my music again.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Envy x360 m6 Convertible notebook. I understand that you are getting audio issues and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,
I have a few steps you could perform to resolve the issue:
Remove the audio drivers & Reinstall the original drivers
Update the Audio drivers from the Official HP website for windows 10 (click on change on the top to switch between OS).
Increase volume on playback device settings after setting your speaker as the default device.
For more steps, follow a similar post on the HP forums: click here
-
Perform a hard reset
-
Run the Audio test from the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI). Click here.
-
Reset your computer
-
Perform an HP System Recovery
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.
