HP Envy
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Envy laptop  (2016) has started to ony use one speaker (Right side). I don't know what would have caused this, or when but I suspect it happened in the past month or so. i use my laptop at work mostly and it connects to a Bluetooth speaker automatically every day so don't even have use of the laptops internal speakers..

Any help would be greatly appreciated, i'm hoping it's just a software issue! Thanks!

Hi @ItsJustGizmo,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query in this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are having issues with the internal speakers on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I recommend updating the bios and the chipset driver from the below link and test.

If the issue persists run an audio test on the computer to make sure that it is not a hardware issue.

Follow the steps in the below article to run the audio test.
