We are having the same issue. My little one uses this for remote school and comes to me crying a few times a week when we have issues and she has to leave class. I have tried a few fixes with drivers and they don't last. We need a solution. This is not the application if it works for any other PC. We have a super cheap, old Acer laptop that has NO issues.
HP, get an update out ASAP. Kids NEED to be remote and your product is broken.

I need to add this is not just Zoom. We bounce between that and Google Meet and have the same problem. So it is definitely an issue with the HP laptop hardware/drivers.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.
- What is the exact model for your computer?
- What is the operating system you are using?
- What is the exact issue you are facing?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Look forward to hearing from you and have a great day!
Take care.
Cheers!

Try loading the LATEST Graphics drivers and software from AMD Radeon. That worked for me. The problems seems to be with the graphics drivers that HP gives us. The microphone is actually controlled by the graphics driver.
