OMEN Laptop - 15-en0006na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've lost audio from my the built in speakers following the last windows update. I still get sound from external devices including the jack and USB audio.

I've done everything advised by the virtual assistant to restore sound to the laptop speakers including updating, removing and reinstalling various versions of drivers, updating BIOS, system diagnostics etc etc but nothing has worked other than a system restore.

Problem occurred after KB4023057: Update for Windows 10 Update Service components

Restoring the laptop pre-update did restore sound but then windows subsequently updated itself and the sound has gone again.

Is there a fix coming for this shortly or should I do another system restore and turn off updates for a while?

Many thanks

@FranOmen

That could be something to do with AMD drivers. Please

   (a) Uninstall Audio driver

   (b) do a cleanup using following information/fix:

            https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601

            https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/amdcleanuputility.exe

   (c) reboot machine

Machine will re-install Audio driver for you.

Regards.

Hi Banhein,

Thanks for your help, unfortunately it's not fixed the issue. I ran the utility in safe mode as recommended but still no sound of the speaks. I'm still getting sound out of the USB ports and headphone jack.

Kind regards

Fran
