HP Omni 27-1057c Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've followed the steps outlined by Paul_Tikkanen in previous posts with similar issues. Upon trying to download the IDT Tempo High Definition Audio Driver, I proceeded to install and received a popup explaining that my current hardware doesn't support it so the install was aborted.

Are there any additional options, or is this older device just incompatible with the newest Windows 10 updates (current version 22H2)?

Hi @mmallon425,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Omni 27-1057c desktop computer is not detecting any audio input or output devices, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check audio connections: Ensure that your speakers or headphones are properly connected to the audio output port on your computer. Make sure the cables are securely plugged in.
  • Test different audio devices: If you have multiple audio output devices (such as speakers and headphones), try connecting and testing each one to determine if the issue is specific to a particular device.
  • Check audio settings: Go to the sound settings on your computer and make sure the correct audio output device is selected. Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar (usually located in the bottom right corner of the screen), and select "Open Sound settings." Under the "Output" section, choose the correct audio device.
  • Update audio drivers: Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause audio issues. Visit the HP support website and download the latest audio drivers for your specific model. Install the drivers and restart your computer.
  • Check Device Manager: Open the Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting "Device Manager." Look for any exclamation marks or question marks indicating a problem with the audio devices. If you find any, right-click on the device and select "Update driver" to install the latest drivers.
  • Restart Windows Audio service: Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type "services.msc" and press Enter. In the Services window, locate "Windows Audio" in the list, right-click on it, and select "Restart." This action will restart the audio service on your computer.
  • Check for Windows updates: Ensure that your computer is up to date with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for audio-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
