Hi @Spacecodee,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
For your HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0006la laptop, it likely uses the Realtek ALC codec, which is common for audio on HP Pavilion models. The exact codec used might be one of the following Realtek HD Audio codecs:
- Realtek ALC269
- Realtek ALC3220
- Realtek ALC236
To find out the exact Realtek codec for your specific laptop model, you can:
Check the Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Sound, video, and game controllers section.
- Right-click on the Realtek Audio device, select Properties, then go to the Details tab and select Hardware Ids in the dropdown list. This should give you the exact Realtek codec information.
Use an Audio Driver Utility:
- Download and install the HP Support Assistant or go to the HP official support page for your model. This can automatically identify and install the necessary drivers.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
