Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

This seems to be a Hardware issue since you already performed the Reset and updated drivers, moreover the volume works as long as you hold on to the button

Does the Mute Button seem to be stuck?

Try reinstalling the Audio Driver from Device Manager

 - Select the Start  button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
- Look for Audio Input & Output and expand the List
- Look for Audio driver then right-click it, and select Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver: Open Device Manager, right-click the Audio driver and select Uninstall. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

If the issue persists please contact HP Support in your region for Service Options

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I tried updating the drivers however the problem persists. Volume button seems fine as i did keyboard check in components and it shows passed.

The volume works fine when in Tablet mode but the moment i switch to desktop mode it gets muted,

Please advise.

Thanks
