HP Spectre x360 with Windows 11 - sound was working but stopped

Hi, my sound was working for months on HP Spectre x360 - 13 with Windows 11 but suddenly it stopped and cant find a driver.

Any help will be super helpful!

Try this fix from a different post - worked for all my laptops - h/t to Jellingtonbean!

Update: several more hours of fiddling and fretting later and I HAVE FIXED IT!! 

All the tips and suggestions I read and was given were pointing me to the wrong device drivers for my issue.  For me, it was the Intel Smart Sound Technology  (Intel (R) SST) OED, way way down the Device Manager list, under System Devices, which was displaying a tiny yellow warning triangle.  I updated that driver (it was found automatically) and my sound is back on.

I hope this will help someone else.
