Until recently my Bose headphones worked well. Then, they only worked after I rebooted the laptop. Now, they don't work at all. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Realtek device drivers and ran Troubleshoot. Device manager shows that everything is working well.
Bose headphones and other Earbuds are working well with Android tablet but not with HP laptop. Earbuds don't even work when plugged into laptop. It seems that the headphone jack on laptop went out. I have gone through all the settings I can think of.
Maybe I am missing something. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for your reply. Ann Carr
BTW: I love my new laptop

Please excuse the multible posts. I'm new to this forum and I didn't realize that the others actually posted already.
Update: Headphones are now working!! I have right clicked the icon on the taskbar and went from there which I have done a number of times. I honestly don't know how but suddenly headphones are working again....after days of various tries and frustration.
I am happy now and I'm also glad to have found this forum. Thank you!

Anothr update. Ughhhh!!!...Got headphones to work last night, appearnantly by a fluke. This morning they're not working again. Rebooted the laptop, they worked. Rebooted again and they're not working again. Very frustrating!
My guess is that the headphone jack is ok after all but the problem might be with the starup menu.
I have looked through the startup but can't find any problem there.
Did anybody have any experience like this? Does anybody have any suggestion as to what to look for in the startup menu?
I have not been able to contact HP via email. Will try to contact by phone after the holiday weekend.
Again, if anybody has any advice I would appreciate it so much.
