Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

I have the same problem as @KA77

Spoiler
"I just bought this laptop two days ago and I noticed that when the headphones are connected but no sound is being played for about 15seconds and you try to play a sound, there is a 2 seconds delay until the sound starts. I tried updating the sound drivers, deleting and reinstalling them but this does not fix the problem. This only occurs with headphones, not with the internal speakers. I also tried replacing the headphones. This problem is not limited to videos but also includes any sound such as system sounds and notifications. This problem is very annoying as I have to rewind videos after pausing them to hear what I missed "

I followed all of the instructions, but the problem still persists.

Any help? Thanks.

Look at this thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/System-Sound-Delay/td-p/6224970

It's driver problem, this is temporary solution.

I forgot to mention that this needs to be done in Registry

(regedit from Run dialog),

couldn't edit answer because thread went read-only.

Still waiting on response from Realtek.

Please, confirm if it works for you as well.

Give kudos if I helped. 🙂

I'm glad it worked. 🙂

Still, no response from Realtek about issue.

I'm pretty sure I won't get one.

I tested older notebook that has 6.0.1.7xxx driver

and it worked ok with newer Windows 10,

so it's 100% positive that only 6.0.1.8xxx have issue.

I hope that Realtek will solve this.

Thanks a lot! The registry change worked on my Spectre X360 15-ch0xx.

Realtek seems to have solved this issue.

I currently have driver version 6.0.1.84xx,

and there's no delay,

so feel free to try it out.

Only problem occuring now is that combined input/output for sound

recognizes microphone from headphones but doesn't pick up any input,

but that was problem in the old driver also.

Anyway, I'm glad that I helped. :generic:
