I just bought new HP Envy 15t Touchscreen Laptop. However, when I plug in a 3.5mm headset, computer doesn't recognize it. Only one speaker is listed on the playback. Sound continues coming from laptop speakers. I tried 2.5mm headset also. that is too small for the laptop. Could you please help me with this issue? Thanks.

Greetings @Yolanda129,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are facing an issue with your computer where you are getting audio from your computer even after connecting a headphone, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?
Have you tried to update all the drivers using HP Support Assistant?
May I know the exact product number of your computer? Click here. Please do not share the serial number of your computer.
Check the 'Disable front panel jack detection' option:
- Double-click on the Realtek HD Audio manager system tray icon
- Click on small folder icon
- Check that the 'Disable front panel jack detection' tick box is unticked.
- Now insert the jack plug of either a microphone or headphones into the corresponding front panel socket of your computer.
- If you now see the message 'Information: A jack has been plugged in', then you do not need to change this setting as your system has an HDA compatible front panel.
- If you do not see this message, then click on the small folder icon again and tick the 'Disable front panel jack detection' check box.
If any of the above options are unavailable, install the latest drivers for your audio adapter from www.hp.com/drivers
Also, run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated on your computer. Click here to know more about HPSA.
Let me know if this helped.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have updated all the drivers using HP Support Assistant. unfortunately, the headset still doesn't work. When i open sound icon on the bottom of the screen, only can see speaker( conexant ISST Audio). even i select ' show disable devices', no other device recongnized. If i click on recording, i can see Microphone Array ( conexant ISST Audio) that is working.
My product :
HP ENVY Notebook
Product number W0Q62AV
system: Windows 10
May i know where is the Realtek HD Audio manager system tray icon? I cann't find it.
Thank you very much for helping.

Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested steps. I assumed that your computer came with Realtek as the product number was not shared.
Request you install the software framework from this link.
Open device manager and uninstall the audio driver.
Delete the driver when prompted during the uninstall.
Restart your computer and install the driver from this link.
If the issue persists, run an audio test on your computer. Click here for assistance.
If the test fails or if you do not get any audio from your headphones when you run the audio test, please contact our phone support for the service options available to have the audio port tested.
Windows 10 does not create a headphone icon on the playback devices, the icon remains as speaker when the headphone is connected.
Keep me posted. Good Luck.
