My HP laptop comes with Realtek Audio drivers which suck (poor EQ, compression, clicking, etc.) so I'm using default High Definition Audio drivers instead, however my problem is that the audio that now comes out of the laptop speakers are now considerably quiet at maximum volume (and yes, audio compression isn't why it is quiet, because Loudness Equalisation doesn't work like people think it does).
This happened before when I freshly installed Windows 10 on a different PC year(s) ago (on headphones too, though). That was fixed once I upgraded from Windows 7 instead and kept Win7's HDA drivers.
How do I get this loudness back without going back to the horrible Realtek drivers? Will Win7's HDA drivers work and has anyone tried this before? I don't mind keeping the Realtek drivers using any hacks possible if it means I don't have to use their software and still get to keep default Windows audio effects (Loudness EQ, Bass Boost, etc.)

Hi@Ethanmiles,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are looking to make the HP Laptop speakers louder.
I have a few recommendations
- Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
- Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
- Try updating the Realtek Audio latest drivers from HP.COM.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
