HP ENVY Laptop - 17t-cg000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In Start, there was a Bang & Olufsen (Control Panel) I think you'd call it where you could open it via a click and adjust the audio speakers and equalizer and such. I accidentally uninstalled it and now can't find out how to reinstall it. Some think I'm missing a certain driver, I think I just have to find the "proper software to download". HP Support Assistant is lacking as you all know and HP themselves after via the phone Consumer Escalations extended the Care Pack Plan to 04/01/2026 because they never registered it to the proper PC in the first place, never sent notice to the technical department, the warranty department nor any of the HP websites that SmartFriend could check to see I'm covered and they can help me over the phone, remotely or via chat without me having to purchase another CarePack Plan with Accidental Protection. So, they're No Help. Does anybody have a Solution?

@POPSBARRY,

Welcome to our HP Community Forum!

The B&O software is outdated and replaced with the Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver - Ice Lake (v. 6.0.9061.1 Rev.C), which you can download from here: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp112001-112500/sp112101.exe.

You can find this driver/software on your laptop's driver & software upgrade page: HP ENVY Laptop - 17t-cg000 CTO Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Again, I tried, then got the message "This driver software is not supported on this OS version". OS Windows 10 22H2.  I'll try to redownload the actual software from the second link you supplied.

Thanks,

Barry

As I suspected both of your links gave me the same Driver Download, not the B & O Software I wanted back. Both are the same driver that is not supported by my OS even though the second link checks my Laptop and gives me that driver as a "matching driver" to my exact Laptop. Weird.

Thank you for your kindness,

Barry

@POPSBARRY,

You are welcome.

Sorry that it didn't work out.

Please try this B&O "BeoConnect Setup" download link: https://bangolufsenassistentgohe.blob.core.windows.net/manuals/APPS_AND_ACCESSORIES/BEOCONNECT_(FOR_....

Kind Regards,

Thanks, great halfway there it installed a "BEOCONNECT" app that doesn't do anything itself with the sound system or even open, however, it's in "Start" and probably half the problem.

Respectfully,

Barry

I said this is not supported by this OS version keeps coming up at the end. Then I saw an "Accepted Answer Post" like mine on HP Community and it said maybe you have headphones plugged in: which I did, I unplugged them, tried to reinstall the driver, and got the same OS version message!

Thanks anyway.
