Hi, I am new to this forum, but would really appreciate some help !

Can someone please advise how to record music on my laptop ? I hope to do as follows but am not sure if this will work .

I hope to connect a high definition analogue to digital external sound card (such as a Behringer UMC202HD) to the tape line-output on my analogue HiFi amplifier, then feed the USB digital output form the Behringer into my Pavilion 15cc-598na laptop, to record tapes or CD's in digital format . My laptop has 2 USB ports, a USB type C port and a HDMI port.

Can this be done , and if so, which ports on my laptop should I use to connect the soundcard to ??

Many thanks..

Petepot

Hi Banhien,

I thought I was asking on the correct forum (HP) because I have a HP Laptop and wish to understand which port will accept line-in audio from a digital source...…..

I don't want to set up a home recording studio, only want to understand how to connect to a digital source (via USB? ) for line-in recording.

Are you able to advise which ports I should use ?

Many thanks for your reply..

Petepot.
