Hi @Carlo26 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To use the audio port on your HP 14 Inch Laptop PC as an auxiliary (AUX) audio input, you'll need to follow these steps:
Check the Laptop Ports: Ensure that your laptop has a combo audio jack that supports both headphones and microphone. Typically, this is a 3.5mm TRRS (Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve) jack.
Get the Right Cable: You'll need a 3.5mm stereo male-to-male audio cable (AUX cable). One end should have a 3.5mm plug to connect to your phone, and the other end should have a 3.5mm plug to connect to your laptop.
Connect the Cable:
- Plug one end of the cable into the headphone jack of your phone.
- Plug the other end into the headphone/microphone combo jack on your laptop.
Configure Audio Settings:
- On your laptop, right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner).
- Choose "Open Sound settings" or "Playback devices."
- Make sure the laptop's speakers are set as the default playback device.
Adjust Volume:
- On your laptop, adjust the volume to a suitable level.
- On your phone, adjust the volume to a low level to start.
Play Audio on Your Phone:
- Start playing audio on your phone.
- The sound should now be routed through the laptop's speakers.
Troubleshooting:
- If you're not hearing any sound, double-check your connections and ensure the cable is properly plugged in.
- Make sure the laptop's audio settings are configured correctly.
Considerations:
- The laptop's microphone input might pick up some background noise, so it's best to mute or disable the microphone input in your sound settings.
- laptops may require additional configuration or software, so refer to the laptop's user manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
