Hi @bigmoneyenthusi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand that you want to use a built mic when using headphones. I’d like to help.
Follow the steps below:
- To make your sound play from both your headphones and your speakers, all you need to do is to right-click on the volume icon- then click on sounds-then go to the playback tab and their select-speakers-right click on it and make sure the 'show disabled devices' and 'show disconnected devices' are checked then on your speakers right click and set that as your default device.
- And click on the headphones-right click and set that as your default communication device and then you need to go to the recording tab, here you need to go to your microphone, you can double click on it and then you need to go to the 'listen tab-here you need to check to 'listen to this device.'
- And then one very important thing you need to do is listen and then play back through which device and so you need to click "listen' here to open the drop-down and select default playback device. As the default is already selected as a speaker, now under that dropdown select headphones and play. This should help your microphone to listen while the speaker is playing and we click apply. And also go to the 'tab communication- and select or check “Do nothing” click apply and ok. That should work.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
